Tragic Fire turns into a "Treasured Momento"!!
A fellow crafter friend (Holly) contacted me this year and asked about having a custom wedding pillow made for a dear friend of hers. It wasn't just the usual wedding pillow request but a rather unique one. Ginger's house had a fire which basically destroyed it along with her treasured wedding gown! Holly salvaged part of the wedding dress. Ginger didn't think anything could be done with the dress but I was given the opportunity to transform it into yet another treasured momento. I used the bodice of the dress which had gorgeous beading, sequins and satin fabric along with a part of the wedding dress train and made it into these pillows. The 3 smaller ones I designed for the Ginger's 3 sons so that they would have ring bearer pillows that they might use in their own weddings if they marry (I might add they've got a few years before this happens - they're not even teenagers yet.) Holly presented the pillow to Ginger in August 2006 and told me how surprised Ginger was by the pillow and how much she loved it. Now that is an awesome friend to be so thoughtful! Wedding Pillow below is 16"x16". The 3 little pillows are approx 7"x7" each.
